"Smithfield Tandoori offers a more refined experience than your common-or-garden Indian restaurant You can still order onion bhajis & spicy rogan josh, but there are also more interesting options on the menu, such as salmon tikka & tandoori quail. The step up in class is also noticeable in the elegant dining room, where crisp white cloths & flickering oil lamps adorn the tables, & unobtrusive staff go quietly about their work." "The Smithfield Tandoori is one of only a few Indian restaurants in the Capital where "home cooked" really means something. Toptable.co.uk
"Smithfield Tandoori is a stylish venue that offers authentic Indian restarant cuisine made using produce from Covent Garden, Smithfield market and Billingsgate market. Viewlondon.co.uk

"I hired a house in the City of London and invited friends along to my birthday. I didn't want to cook. The Smithfield Tandoori Indian restaurant, ideally situated close to the barbican and farringdon. provided me with 2 huge pans of curry which proved to be such a good idea, it tasted fantastic and kept us warm all weekend" Denise, london.
"I missed the Smithfield Tandoori Indian restaurant when it was closed, so glad its open again. We do a lot of work in the City of London, near Farringdon and the Barbican and you can rely on a good curry and warm welcome from Sam and his team". Andy, Edinburgh.
"Excellent food, excellent service" David Pacey.
We dine regularly at the Smithfield Tandoori Indian restaurant and have been die hard customers for over 10 years. The new setting is spacious with lots of room between tables, (none of this sitting on one another's laps and overhearing the next door table's conversations) and the changing art installations always make the room interesting. What doesn't change is the quality of the curry. It is exemplary. The quality of the produce is fantastic - the chef provides beautiful, simple, Indian restaurant food. Sam and Khan make you welcome without being over the top and the waiting staff are polite and courteous. One of our favourite London restaurants without a doubt. Claire, November 2010
Fantastic Indian restaurant food in a great new space! Smithfield Tandoori never fails to deliver. There is no such thing as an off day in this Indian restaurant and its not far from Barbican, Farringdon or St Pauls. It's consistently brilliant. Try it, you won't want to eat curry anywhere else I guarantee it! Richard, October 2010
The food and service were always good at the old location, but this year's Crossrail-inspired move has brought the bonus of a vast new room with a high ceiling and eye-catching artwork. The best curry in the City of London. Duncan, Barbican resident.
Try the Smithfield Tandoori Indian restaurant yourself. We are in City of London EC1, in the centre of Smithfield, near Farringdon and the Barbican.
